Montain refuge : "Châlet de la Poutouille"

This picturesque chalet welcomes you to an authentic, rustic setting, ideal for mountain hikers. The chalet is made up of 2 distinct parts: a refuge and a gîte.

The refuge :
The refuge offers comfortable and simple living conditions, with welcoming bedrooms, a warm common room and a kitchen equipped to prepare your meals. Open all year round, it can accommodate up to 8 people, with 6 mattresses available for hikers. Equipped with a wood-burning stove for warming up in winter, a table for eating and a shelter in case of bad weather, the refuge allows visitors to rest and spend the night in peace. Renovated in 2022, with walls and roof insulated with burnt wood planks, it also features solar panels for room lighting and USB sockets for visitors' convenience. Wood is supplied by the association to fuel the stove.

The gîte :
The gîte is exclusively reserved for residents of the commune of Péron. To obtain the key, it is necessary to reserve via the Péron town council website and to go to the town hall to collect it, accessible via the "Availability and reservations" tab.
Upstairs, under the roof, the gîte offers 14 beds, renovated in 2011, where you can be awakened by the gentle rays of sunshine filtering through the velux windows. On the first floor, a wood-burning stove warms up the space and lets you prepare your meals, accompanied by a gas stove and a complete set of utensils and pots and pans.

Outside, a source of non-drinking water allows you to refill your water supply. This will allow you to clean your cooking utensils. It is therefore important to remember to bring drinking water with you. The fire place allows you to enjoy good food on a wood fire and to warm up during the mild nights at the top of the Jura.

It is your duty to respect the place, to clean up after your stay and to bring back your rubbish. Thank you for thinking of future arrivals.
The refuge is located in a National Nature Reserve. It is advisable to respect the regulations in force.

Please note: camping in any form is prohibited in the Haute Chaîne du Jura. However, there is some tolerance in the immediate vicinity of chalets and refuges open to the public (within a 15 metre radius of the chalet) if they are fully booked.
Special case of bivouacs (temporary camping without tents): the Prefectural Order of 16 October 2017 sets out the conditions for bivouacs within the Nature Reserve. For more information on the subject, please consult the website of the Haute Chaine de Jura National Nature Reserve.
