Tai-chi - Group class

Derived from the martial arts, tai chi classes are given individually or in groups, generally lasting around 1 hour, and are divided into three phases. It begins with warm-up and relaxation exercises lasting around twenty minutes. Next, the instructor may incorporate exercises to rebalance body posture and channel energy. The remainder of the session is devoted to learning the tai chi movements and performing them slowly, in sequence. While the first two phases take place on an individual basis, the last phase takes place in a group.
