V 861 - Véloroute de la VIA VENAISSIA

The Via Venaissia is a cycling path which goes through the Comtat Venaissin. Soon it will connect Orange to Velleron and cover some thirty kilometres. This secure, protected itinerary follows the former railroad track and takes you into the villages for it goes to the old train stations. The itinerary is ideal for magnificent views of the vineyards, the River Ouvèze and in the background, Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail.

Starting from the train stations in Jonquières, Sarrians and Aubignan-Loriol, there are four other cycling routes to try. Cycle along country roads and discover beautiful countryside around the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux. Be very careful with traffic though, as these are roads shared with other vehicles. These four itineraries are signposted. Get the route sheets from the local tourist offices or for download them from the “La Provence à Vélo” (Provence by Bike) website.
