Church of Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Grâce, visit with digital tablet

Founded by Canon Devémy and built by Maurice Novarina, it is the key to the revival of sacred art in the 20th century. (Listed as a Historic Monument, with the label "Patrimoine du XXe s.")
The church of Assy is that of the sanatorial station installed on the site between 1926 and 1937.
The architecture, entrusted to Maurice Novarina, was inspired by the solid Savoyard chalets.
Advised by his friend, the Dominican Father Marie-Alain Couturier, for whom "every true artist is an inspired person", Canon Devémy "bets on genius" and invited the greatest modern artists for the decoration, without taking into account their religious beliefs or their political ideology.
This is what is known as "LA LECON D'ASSY".
Among the artists who contributed to its decoration: Bazaine, Bonnard, Braque, Chagall, Couturier, Kijno, Léger, Lipchitz, Lurçat, Mary, Matisse, Richier, Rouault, Signori, Strawinsky.
