Micro-Folie - Aladdin

The Opus concerts are an encounter between music and history. The audience is immersed into Carl Nielsen's Aladdin, composed at the end of the First World War, through a mix of orchestra, dramatic narration and audiovisual documentary.
Aladdin is a tale from the Arabian Nights as told by Adam Oehlenschläger, one of the great Danish playwrights of the 19th century. In the 1910s, the Royal Theatre of Copenhagen commissioned this musical version, by Carl Nielsen, of Adam Oehlenschläger's Aladdin. Chinese, Hindu and other styles of dance are a major part of the show.
