Désaignes : a village with outstanding character

The vestiges are ramparts, three gates - Bourg de l'Holme gate, Janot gate and the oven or Fornate gate bearing the Retourtour family coat of arms -, the 14thC. castle and its keep, the Romanesque church. Then the Huguenots period, strongly linked to the village history with the Protestant church. Désaignes, which is a listed village since 1972, is located in a hilly countryside, a paradise for walking, horse riding and the discovery of botany.
