Church of St Barthélémy

The present church was extended from the medieval building and (an originality in the Tarentaise) it kept its semi-dome layout with a bell tower topped by a tuff spire built by Pierre Martinet, a master mason from Valsesia (1732). Jacques-Antoine Todesco from Valsesia made the high altar in 1677. The concave wall and the two side windows of the choir have limited its usual development in width. On either side are two large statues of Saint Bartholomew and Saint Grat (one would be invoked for the flocks, the other for the sowing).
The painted canvases show St Nicholas and St Bartholomew in the main register and the martyrdom of St Bartholomew in the upper register. On the left is the altarpiece of the Rosary and on the right, that of St Anthony abbot: on either side, the ornaments of roses or laurels attest to the hesitations of the destinations of these cults.
