Sculpture du Monument en mémoire du Génocide arméniens de Toros

The painful history of the Armenian people gives this monument all its expressiveness. The motherland, Armenia, is represented here in the form of a female soldier liberating the Armenian people from the dragon snake, the Ottoman Empire. With one determined arm, she grasps the reptile's head, raises her other arm in a victorious gesture and crushes the head of her oppressor. In front of her, Mount Ararat, a mountain with two snow-capped peaks in present-day Turkey, looms large. Behind, a bas-relief depicts a Mother and Child. The latter, his body stretched towards her face, gives her the energy of life and hope for the future. Above the commemorative stele, whose letters Toros sculpted, a flame has been added.
