Arboretum of Etrez

The Association "Trees and Nature" is committed to achieving an arboretum in the north of the Commune. It aims to promote the tree with all age groups of all generations through better knowledge of the tree of life, its history, its uses, its role, its function in nature and its implementation value.

Objectives:
• Preserve and introduce regional species of trees of the same species, but rare, to educational title.
• Offer to future generations a place of healing, in the quiet of a protected and managed forest area.

Currently a hundred different species of trees and sixty shrubs were planted and all are marked with a plate with Latin names and their French name.

One can also see a bower "plessée" aged about 200 years, remarkable trees listed by Heritage of Country Ain.
The arboretum is open to the public who respect the Charter of the visitor which is on the entree panel.

The association organizes guided tours for visitors aware of the need to conserve biodiversity during Heritage Days.
